Friday Fun Stuff

Hi, kids–

Here are a few groovy links for you to check out and expand yer brain. Or something.

1. Doctor Seuss’ 108th birthday! I grew up with Seuss books. My parents read them to me until I could read myself, and then I just read ‘em all the time. Love ‘em. My fave Seuss characters are the Zax (Zaxes? Zaxi? Zaxices?), Bartholomew Cubbins, and Horton. Although the Sneetches were pretty cool, too. 7 things you didn’t know about Seuss.

2. OMG you have GOT to check out this free app for mobile devices. Great time-killing zombie game, called “Stupid Zombies.” I give you info at Women and Words.

3. Are you a writer? Need a prompt? Chuck Wendig has a cool song shuffle prompt for flash fiction. Check it out.

4. Whoa. 12 post-apocalyptic house designs. Some crazy, some not-so-much. Clickie.

5. Imogen Heap’s vid for her “First Train Home,” which is one of my earworm songs at the moment. Everybody needs music, whether you believe that about yourself or not. Let this one be your rush-hour drive song.

Oh, and here. The Sneetches.

There. Everybody have a happy and safe Friday, and I hope that extends through the weekend. Happy writing, happy reading, happy living.

About Andi Marquette

Andi Marquette once wanted to be a seafaring pirate. But she realized that could be a problem, growing up in the Rocky Mountain West and Southwest. So she became an editor, anthropologist, and historian instead. But that, too, didn't satisfy her weird cravings for stories and strange realms. Now, she's a writer ensconced in Colorado and when she wants to go pirate-ing, she just makes something up.
