I’m calling it “Mysteries of the Universe further Explored and Misunderstood.” That’s SATURDAY, MAY 15th from 4-6 PM.

Hi, all–

I’m extremely pleased and honored to announce that “The Ties that Bind,” the 3rd mystery in my New Mexico series (released November 2009) was selected as one of 5 top mysteries by the Lesbian Fiction Readers Choice Awards AND as one of the top 5 general fiction books by the LFRCA. Many, many thanks to all of you who read it and enjoyed it and made it your choice.

If you’re not familiar with my NM series, visit my Books page here for synopses and excerpts and information about where to buy, if you so desire. Thanks again!

Awesome cookbook!

Posted on April 12, 2010

Hi, all–as some of you who have read my books know, food appears quite a bit. That’s because I’m a total food geek. I don’t know if I deserve the moniker “foodie,” since I’m not a trained food prep professional, but I do love food and food history. And I also love Italy and Italian food (lordie, who doesn’t????). So that’s why this cookbook rocks:

cover,
source

Full disclosure–yes, I am a friend and colleague of the author, and I have actually read an early version of this cookbook cover to cover. It was that good. It’s filled with food tips, history and culture tidbits about spices and ingredients, and personal anecdotes and stories about the recipes. The author lives in Brooklyn and her parents immigrated from Italy and have maintained a lot of their food traditions. You will find those here, delightfully packaged. And for those of you who are not vegetarian? No problem! Add meat! Except maybe to the desserts…

So if you’re a foodie and you dig Italian food and cooking, check this out.

peace!

chatting with a character

Posted on April 3, 2010

Hi, folks–hope you’re all well this first weekend of April. I get asked a lot whether I’m anything like K.C. Fontero, the main character in Land of Entrapment and The Ties that Bind.

How about we ask K.C. and find out? Go to  Women and Words to see.

Hope everyone is getting some great spring weather!

peace and hope your weekend is totally groove-a-licious.
